2025-01-29 Call for funding - I am very close to being able to add lateral passing distance support to the data field. But the only way this will work is through communication with a separate phone app AND newer Connect IQ v5.0 devices. Garmin has added the ability to have COMMUNICATION in a data field, but it is only compatible with Connect IQ v5.0, which only the Garmin Edge 1040 and 1050 series support plus probably a few of the newer watches. I don't have that kind of money to drop on an Edge 1040 or 1050 as I am already spending a lot of personal money on the server hosting the website and database (helped by people making donations). Please email me if you would like to make a one-time donation to cover the cost of a 1050. I can give you a shout out on the website and/or place a small ad if you have a business or product you'd like to promote. I intend for this website to be primarily donation/grant funded and not ad-supported. But I do not have a problem making small non-invasive manually created ads that are not part of some big ad network compromising your privacy.
2025-01-29 Still working on Strava API limits, I have a strategy for queueing and spreading the requests to aim to hit the daily limit so it may take longer for the ride summary data to appear, but at least it should hopefully appear. I have not finished implementing this yet, though, as I am working on adding lateral passing distance support. See previous bullet point.
2024-11-20 After struggling with Strava API limits, I have removed the manual matching/updating process for previous rides. NEW rides you upload/sync should hopefully have the radar info added automatically now on a much more consistent basis. Please email me if you are still not seeing ride descriptions added automatically.
2024-09-30 If you are looking for a way to make this work without a Garmin cycling computer, check out the Cadence Running and Cycling App for both iPhone and Android, which is now compatible with mybiketraffic.com.
2024-02-24 UPDATE: I was able to get the software configured on the new SSD. I have turned back on the "processing" feature which gives more detailed information about the geolocation (country, city, state, county, etc... or corresponding administrative division in your local country). I am working on a page to make that summary data available both specifically for your rides as well as the anonymized summary data for all riders. 2023-06-01 Strava integration is here! You can now have Strava automatically add a summary of your radar date to your Strava ride description. Get started by authorizing mybiketraffic to access your Strava account using this link.
2023-05-29 The site had an error that may have resulted in duplicate ride(s) via the Garmin sync process. I noticed this on my own account today. Hopefully, the problem has been fixed. I've been working hard to get Strava integration working, and it's almost ready.
2023-04-11 The switch to a "production" Garmin key did not go smoothly, but auto-sync is working now. If your rides still aren't synching, trying re-authorizing again. Otherwise, email me with the email address you use to login so I can investigate.

2023-04-09 Good news, Garmin connect auto-sync is here! Bad news, I discovered a bug where "disabled time" hasn't been reporting correctly since November 21st, 2022. It is fixed now, but rides between November 21st, 2022 and April 9th, 2023 will all show as having zero disabled times. Why does this matter? If you ride with your radar disabled, my import script incorrectly reported that you weren't passed by any cars during that stretch of road when in reality you may have been passed by hundreds of cars on a busy road. This impacts the accuracy of overall statistics by artificially deflating the affected roads with "zero car" rides. If you never ride with your radar disabled, then this doesn't affect you or the overall statistics at all. see more...
2023-04-05 Garmin Connect auto-sync coming very soon! When enabled, you will no longer have to manually upload rides to mybiketraffic.com.
2023-04-03 Strava integration coming soon. Initial integration will add a link back to the mybiketraffic imported ride along with the vehicle count and passing statistics.
